I have added a short video of our cat, Dusty, using the Litter Loo. The fence that you see in the renderings is totally optional and any or all of the three sides can easily be removed. Our thinking was that the side with the opening could be on installed either side of the machine. The Litter Loo was designed for a cat to enter from the side or from the front. You must be able to pull out the drawer to remove the waste, so the back of the Litter Loo cannot be against a wall or in a corner. The front of the Litter Loo could be placed “near” a corner. It would need to be about 8 or 10” away because it swings up and out when the machine cycles. Thank you all for your comments, suggestions, and kind words of encouragement. We will notify you when we launch and we will be counting on you to help spread the word.

@Cyndy Thank you for your feedback! The product will have to go through the engineering phase (the next phase) before there are specifics about litter capacity, cord length, etc, but I think we can give you some minimums. It should hold at least 22 lbs of litter and the cable length would be as long as a typical wall adapter length, which is probably 4-5 feet or so. Yes, you can certainly use an extension cord if necessary.
I can say from experience that it's about 50/50 on people wanting the waste drawer to be deeper and those who want the keep the height of the unit as low as possible. There is a perception that some cats won't be able to get into the box -- even with a step or ramp. That may be true for very old cats, but generally cats have no problem climbing and jumping. There will have to be a compromise. I don't see a taller (or shorter) base as a viable ordering option.
You can put the side of the Litter Loo next to a wall, and close to a corner but far enough away from the corner to allow the width (not length, but width) of your largest cat -- probably about 5-6 inches. We don't want to trigger the jam sensor. The jam sensor should always be the second line of defense. The first line of defense should always be proper placement within the room. So as long as some common sense is used and you don't allow your cat to be trapped behind something (or in something like a cabinet) or get into a position where the jam sensor could get triggered, then you should be good.
There is definitely still a timer reset if your cat re-enters the box.
Button/light placement has always been a point of discussion. I will say that once your cats are used to the box you won't be using the buttons anymore, and the only light you'll care about will probably be the tray full indicator. It should blink pretty brightly and reflect off the walls within the room. I found that, for convenience, I faced the buttons/lights into a corner. This latest design at least has the buttons and lights facing upwards, so you can still see the lights and access the buttons even if they are facing toward the corner (which is a big improvement over my prototypes). It may not be perfect, but it should work well and allow access to everything you need. This will be fleshed out more during the engineering phase I'm sure.
Again, thanks for the great feedback!
